A homeless cat named Toby roams Portland, Oregon, in search of food and friendship. One day, he finds a warm, welcoming café where people, many experiencing homelessness or poverty, gather for free meals. Toby becomes a beloved fixture at the café, bringing comfort and joy to the diners. Each day, he meets new friends with unique stories, teaching young readers about resilience and the power of community. As Toby collects scraps of fabric from his friends, a man named Oscar, who has found a job and a home, decides to adopt him.
